AO LI
Bass-baritone Ao Li is Professor of Voice at Shandong University of Arts.  He has starred in both Western and Chinese operas, including "The Marriage of Figaro", "Così fan tutte", "Don Giovanni", "The Magic Flute", "Norma", "I Capuleti e i Montecchi", "L'elisir d'amore", "Don Pasquale", "Lucrezia Borgia", "The Barber of Seville", "Carmen", "La serva padrona", “Eugene Onegin", "La Bohème", "Tosca", "La Traviata", "Daughter of the Party", "Han Xin", "Song of Exile", "Red Azalea", and "The Enchanted Garden." He is a signed singer with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Utah Opera, Kentucky Opera, Santa Barbara Opera, North Carolina Opera, Calgary Opera in Canada, La Monnaie in Belgium, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea, the Macao Cultural Centre, and the Taipei and Kaohsiung Operas.  He has collaborated with conductors such as Marco Armiliato, Nicola Luisotti, Plácido Domingo, Valery Gergiev, Martin Katz, Massimo Zanetti, Fabio Luisi, Giuseppe Finzi, Alain Altinoglu, Riccardo Frizza, Robert Tweten, Marin Alsop, Daniela Candillari, Judith Yan, Mark Morash, Darell Ang, Zheng Xiaoying, Li Xincao, Lv Jia, Zhang Guoyong, Tan Lihua, Lv Shaojia, Jian Wenbin, Peng Jiapeng, Lin Daye, Chen Lin, and Zhang Yan.
Ao Li’s awards include: the First Prize in the Male Category at the Operalia World Opera Competition in 2013; the Grand Champion of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the United States in 2014; the Audience Favorite Singer Award at the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in 2015; the Runner-up at the Shizuoka International Opera Competition in Japan in 2017; the Third Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Belgium in 2018; the First Prize in the "Bel Canto Group" at the 12th China Music Golden Bell Award Finals in 2019; and the "Outstanding Talent" title at the 15th National Vocal Music Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2023.
After Ao Li won the Grand Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the New York Times commented, "Ao Li is the singer we are looking for, a rare talent on today's opera stage." The Belgian newspaper De Standaard remarked, "Ao Li has conquered the discerning European audience with his perfect voice and performance." The Asahi Shimbun in Japan praised him highly, stating, "Ao Li is the best bass we have heard in the last decade."
YEO-JIN SEOL
Pianist and Accompanist, Yeo-Jin Seol is native of Seoul, Korea. She received her doctorate in Collaborative Piano from Arizon State University. She holds additional performance degrees from San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Han- Yang University in Seoul, Korea.  Upon completion of her studies, she was a teaching assistant in Collaborative Piano at Arizona State University, also received Honors Outstanding Achievement in Collaborative piano at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Dr. Seol has worked with the numerous music festivals as a staff accompanist, including Aspen Music Festival and Schools, Viandn Festival, Songfest. She currently serves as a staff accompanist and performer at lyric Opera Theater at Arizona State University, Arizona School for the Arts and Fountain Hill Chamber Players and Bach-Millennium Music.

Maestro Matthias Kuntzsch was born in Karlsruhe, Germany and attended the Conservatory of Music in Hannover, where he studied piano with the famous Mozart pianist Karl Engel.

Alexander Katsman is the Artistic and Music Director for Livermore Valley Opera. Alumni of the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program, he received his M.M. from St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory and his B.M. cum laude from Mussorgsky College of Music in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Sylvia Anderson
Sylvia Anderson was born in Denver, Colorado, and received her Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music.  She won a Fulbright Stipend for post graduate study at the Cologne, Germany, Conservatory and over the next years was honored for her singing on three continents.

Molly Fillmore
Molly Fillmore made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Helmwige in Die Walküre, conducted by James Levine, winning a Grammy award for Best Opera Recording. During her seven seasons at the Met, she also appeared as Mrs. Naidoo in Satyagraha by Philip Glass.

Hao Wu
Hao Wu is Associate Professor of Accompanying at Shenyang Conservatory of Music and a guest graduate instructor at Shandong Normal University in China. After finishing his Professional Studies Diploma in Collaborative Piano under the guidance of professor Timothy Bach, he started to serve as a staff pianist at San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2018.

Young Lee
Young Lee is an active collaborative pianist in the Bay Area. She is versed in both instrumental and vocal repertoire. Young holds a Professional Studies Diploma from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was under the tutelage of Timothy Bach. Ms. Lee received her B.M. from Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary and her M.M. from Sungshin Women University in Seoul, South Korea.

Clifford Cranna

Clifford 'Kip' Cranna, Dramaturg at San Francisco Opera, has served on the staff since 1979 and was Director of Music Administration for over thirty years. In 2008 he was awarded the San Francisco Opera Medal, the company’s highest honor, and in 2012 he received the Bernard Osher Cultural Award for distinguished efforts to bring excellence to a cultural institution.
In 2014 he received the Star of Excellence Award for outstanding service to the programs of the San Francisco Opera Guild.
He holds a B.A. in music from the University of North Dakota and a Ph.D. in musicology from Stanford University. For thirty years he was Program Editor and Lecturer for the Carmel Bach Festival. He lectures and writes frequently on music, teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory and the Fromm Institute at USF, and moderates the SF Opera Guild “Insight” panel discussions. He was Dramaturg for the 2016 production of Wagner’s “Ring” at the Kennedy Center in Washington

Timothy Bach is co-founder and director of the Collaborative Piano Program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has appeared in performances in the United States, Europe and Asia with artists such as mezzo-soprano Elena Obratsova, soprano Jane Marsh, tenor David Gordon, violinists Chee Yun and Jennifer Koh and cellists Hai-Ye Ni and Wendy Warner.

Milena Bach
Milena Georgieva Bach is founder and artistic director of Bach-Millennium Music.  She made her operatic debut in Europe and performed roles in Aida, La Boheme, Tosca, Il Trovatore, Tannhäuser and others in France, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria.
